The children of the 90s
Are in serious trouble.
You think you had it bad.
They have it double.
So many things to worry about.
Like gangs, drugs and booze.
And because of these and more
It seems we have nothing to lose.
But kids today are strong,
Probably stronger than you,
You'd have to be
If you'd been through what they've been
through.
On the outside,
We look concrete,
But inside,
We feel defeat.
So once in a while,
If your kid's feeling bad,
Don't give them a speech
About the rough life you had.
Give them a pat on the back,
Be a sympathetic adult,
And apologise to them
Because it's partly your fault.
